About

Annette “Butch” Taylor, originally from Vancouver, retired from being a mason, bought and sold her restaurants and lounges then moved to Arizona in 2004. While in Arizona she began to create jewelry and custom gifts influenced by the desert vistas. She miniaturized her skills with brick, block, and stone into unique wearable art. Pulling from her life experience, that along with being a mason includes multiple black belt levels in martial arts, teaching youths Kempo Karate and Taekwondo , and raising her children, her creations balance whimsy with shape and form. While in Arizona she began selling her creations, an activity that she continued once she returned to the Vancouver area in 2012. She has been a regular at area fairs like Camas Days, Battleground Village, and Gresham Saturday Market. Just look for purple to quickly find her booth, it is her favorite color.

She enjoys riding her Harley, fishing from her houseboat and kayaking at a moment’s notice. These activities soothes her soul and provide inspiration for her creativeness. When not enjoying her three children, fourteen grandchildren, and so far, 1 great grandchild, she can be found exploring new art mediums. Currently she uses enameling, wire wrapping, leather, copper, horse shoe nails, metals, gold, silver, beads, raw stones, crystals, glass art, and has begun to explore fiber art in her creations. Annette is warm, friendly, and gregarious. She delights in receiving requests for individual creations using materials provided by the clients, or from treasures discovered in her adventures and travels. Explore her creations displayed on these pages, follow her on Facebook, visit with her at local fairs, or contact her by this web page.

Creating with her hands has been a lifelong activity. As a mason she found joy in working with stone, to see a hole, pick a stone and cut or chisel it so that it fit perfect brought her joy. She continues her joyful activity in miniature with designing custom jewelry and unique gifts that she creates in limited or individual quantities.
